Hello Visitor,
My name is Arpad Makk, owner of Mack Guitarworks. I was born in 1977, and graduated university in 1998, as an engineer.
I opened my first workshop in 2015 in Budapest, a lovely place. In 2024 Mack Guitarworks (MGW) has moved to Érd (South-West suburban of Budapest).
More space, more efficient and using renewable energy sources.
Vintage and modern
In the workshop, I use a lot of vintage tools, like the big pin router or the pedestal buffer. With these tools, I can faithfully reproduce vintage electric guitar parts, with the typical markings. For some reason, those are the most common requested details from my customers.
We like to use modern tools too, like the Rectify Master fret leveling system, or any specialised Stewmac tool.
Yes, i love tools, like childrens playing with LEGO. These are my goals:
Love what you do
The workshop was started in passion for making guitars. The profit comes at least.
Take your time
Some processes can take more time, as estimated. Quality first, productivity at least.
Honest, straight communication
Don't be political. I like the straightness in the workshop.
My experience
After 10 years playing mostly guitars in diverse bands, I was putting my ‘axes’ down, to focus more on the research creating great instruments.
I’m building guitars and basses since 2008, and started my workshop 10 years ago.
I am an graduated engineer.
